I love it when one e-zine I subscribe to references another that I also read. The Word of Mouth Marketing Association recently published 5 tips on viral marketing from the CEO of eMarketer. Geoff Ramsey's quote that they started off with is great:

"If you're going to join the vast consumer conversation, you need to speak in their language."

I especially liked Tip#4 - Start with the big idea. Too often marketers think, "We need to do X", but really we all need to take the time to stand back and find the big idea, or the reason WHY, before jumping into tactics. That will keep your viral marketing activities focused on your objectives in the long run.
