If your cell phone supports Internet connectivity, now you can use Google to search indexed web sites that have been designed for viewing on mobile phones.
From the main Google Mobile page, you can select to search the Web, Images, Local, or Mobile Web. The advantage of using the Mobile Web option is that the sites returned in the search results are only those that are designed for viewing on a cell phone screen.
The Google Mobile feature is especially promising for local marketers, as cell phone users can look up the contact information for a business and dial right from the search results on the cell phone screen. So when a potential customer is out and about, they can find you at just the moment they're ready to make a purchase.
While I have yet to use this service here in the States myself, I remember browsing web sites designed for cell phones when I worked at NTT DoCoMo in Tokyo 4 years back. The entire page that appeared on your computer monitor was the size of your cell phone display. You might not be able to fit a lot in there, but at least in the U.S., just having a mobile site can likely get you more visibility at this point.
